El Dorado by 1934

Whitewash covered the El Dorado mural. Giant swastikas alternating with Nazi slogans decorated the windows. Wilhelm was right. El Dorado was not in its old form at all.Peeking out from the corners of a Nazi poster were the words HERE…RIGHT. The full sign used to read HERE IT IS RIGHT. It cheered me to see these defiant little vestiges. They had papered them over, but the words were there, and maybe they would be revealed again.
